Jess was a black-and-white tuxedo cat photographed on 20 November 2017 sitting flat on a sheet of paper marked 'please do not bend'. In October 2022 someone turned that photo into a low-poly 3D model for Garry's Mod, another user reworked it into a carryable object titled 'Maxwell the carryable cat', and on 4 November 2022 a spinning GIF of the model set to Weebl's 'Stockmarket' became one of the biggest memes of the year. Jess had already died of cancer in early 2020 and never saw any of it.
