🐼 Fu Bao

Giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) Β· Shenshuping base, Wolong National Nature Reserve, Sichuan, China - born at Everland, Yongin, South Korea

Lives in Forest Hollow

Fu Bao was born in July 2020 at the Everland resort in Yongin, the first giant panda ever born in South Korea and the first there by natural breeding. She became a national fixation over 1,354 days at the park, with her keeper relationship, her tree-climbing and her sulks running constantly on Korean TV and social feeds. Under the loan agreement with China she left on 3 April 2024, a month after her last public viewing day on 3 March 2024, and now lives at the Shenshuping panda base in Sichuan. In December 2024 keepers saw her trembling while foraging and pulled her off display; she was cleared and returned to visitors in late March 2025.

What they do

Sits back on her rump, hauls a bamboo stalk up to her mouth with both front paws, chomps twice and topples slowly backwards - then rights herself and does it again..

Born a princess and has never once forgotten it: climbs the tree, refuses to come down, expects an audience.

Lore

Helping the real one

No verified way to support this animal exists.

We will not invent one.

She lives at a Chinese state conservation base and I could not verify any public donation route that reaches her, so this is honestly none.
