🦭 Reggae

Atlantic harbor seal (Phoca vitulina concolor) · The 42,000-gallon outdoor harbor seal exhibit on the front plaza of the New England Aquarium, Boston, Massachusetts

Lives in Lagoon

Reggae is a 33-year-old male Atlantic harbor seal at the New England Aquarium. In February 2026 the aquarium's social team filmed him during a routine enrichment session with a yellow rubber duck, and the Instagram reel that followed hit close to 500,000 views and roughly 100,000 engagements in under a month — the aquarium's second-best-performing post at the time. The ducks are part of a cognitive training game the trainers call 'find it!', where Reggae searches his exhibit and learns to tell one object from another. Keepers describe him as the laid-back one who prefers slow enrichment to the high-energy stuff.

What they do

Floats belly-down at the surface, wraps both front flippers around a yellow rubber duck and hugs it in, then pats it twice on the head before tucking it under one flipper..

A thirty-three-year-old gentleman who does everything slowly and will not put the duck down.
