👑 Choupette
Domestic cat (Birman) · Paris, France
Lives in The Meme House
Choupette is a blue-cream Birman born on 15 August 2011 who belonged to the model Baptiste Giabiconi and was handed to Karl Lagerfeld around Christmas 2011 after a spell of cat-sitting became permanent. Lagerfeld talked about her constantly, said she earned three million euros in 2014 from a German car campaign and Japan's Shu Uemura line, and made her one of the most photographed cats alive; Jared Leto wore a full Choupette costume to the 2023 Met Gala. Since Lagerfeld's death in February 2019 she has lived in Paris with his former housekeeper Françoise Caçote, who said in June 2026 that she has received nothing from the estate and works part-time to pay for the cat's care.
What they do
Sits perfectly upright, lifts her chin and turns her head away in a slow dismissive quarter-turn, plumed tail sweeping once behind her..
Expects to be carried. Has never been asked to do anything twice.
