Flossie was found as a young stray in a cat colony near a Merseyside hospital in December 1995, and passed through three homes over the next 27 years before Cats Protection rehomed her with Vicki Green in Orpington in 2022. Guinness World Records confirmed her as the world's oldest living cat on 24 November 2022, aged 26 years and 316 days, roughly 120 in human years. She turned 30 on 29 December 2025 and still holds the title.
